Our Projects

Lisburn Food Bank

Serving the Greater Lisburn Area Since 2013!

LCC Community Trust, in partnership with the Trussell network, provides emergency food to individuals and families in crisis throughout the Greater Lisburn area. Our foodbank operates through referrals from local care professionals, including doctors, social workers, and the police. These professionals issue vouchers that clients can exchange for a three-day supply of food. We also signpost individuals to other local services for additional support.

We know that life changes, that a job loss or relationship breakdown can leave anyone in need – there’s no such thing as a “typical” foodbank user!

Since opening in June 2013, we’ve provided 420,205.72 kg of food and helped 26,991 individuals. That’s 1 in every 44 households in Lisburn.

Kickstart Social Supermarket

Supporting Families and Individuals to Overcome Food Poverty

The Kickstart Social Supermarket at LCC Community Trust is designed to support those struggling with food poverty by offering affordable food and comprehensive wraparound care. Our mission is to help families and individuals access the tools and support they need to achieve positive and lasting change in their lives.

Clients can self-refer or be referred by one of our 80+ local partners. Following a needs assessment, we create a personalised plan that includes 1-to-1 mentoring, group classes, and access to reduced-price food. Support extends to money management courses and classes in cookery, parenting, employment, and household skills. Our “Make the Call” team offers weekly benefit advice, while food is sourced through reduced-price purchases or donations from local supermarkets.

The Kickstart Social Supermarket provides both practical and emotional support to combat food poverty. By empowering clients with new skills, resources, and confidence, we aim to help them take the first steps toward a brighter, more sustainable future.
